Me on my birsday last March

Me & Maddy

Message from the Loonster

Hey friendies and other folks,

How lazy can one be when it concerns updating an online journal? Very lazy, so it seems since I haven't posted in three months! A lot has happened in the mean time; I turned 16!! That was on the 4th of March, so quite a while ago, but it was an awesome birthday nevertheless. Another big happening (to me) was the piano performance night last Saturday. I played two pieces, 'Nothing Else Matters' by Lucie Silvas and 'Think of Me' from the Phantom of the Opera. Both pieces I played quite well, and as usually the other participants were, each on their own level, magnificent! Here's a picture of me playing on the grand piano:

If I look a bit strange that's probably because I'm performing there and was slightly nervous :) However, it wasn't as big a performance as usually. There were only about 40 people, while usually there are at least 60. It just was a busy time for most people, so they couldn't practise the piano much and therefore not perform. Less performers equals less people coming to the night, but okay. Afterwards we all stayed to eat some of the snacks people had brought along, to chat, and of course to 'freelance' a bit on the piano. That was a really fun part! I played 'Nothing else Matters' again and I actually sang it too! Together with Gerriet, another 'pianiste' from the evening. Like I said, it was another awesome experience.

Now something quite different: for two days this week I'm an intern at an international company; Springer. It's just an assignment for school to help you decide what kind of profession/ education you want to do after you graduate from Secondairy School. This was slightly vague. After I graduate I want to go to university to study Psychology, or something like that, but seriously, psychologists just don't take interns for two days, especially not 16 year olds! For the bilangual students ( which include me) they also expected an international internship, but that's going to be even harder, especially when you're looking in the direction I want to go later on. Now, my dad happens to work in a building with several other companies in it, Springer among them. So, he just took care of it for me, so now I'm there for two days. I started this morning, and I'm sure it's quite an interesting building, but I've not done a single thing all day! Of course there wasn't a lot I could do, either. I'm just a secondairy school student, they can't expect me to manage things or whatever else it is they do. So I just watched. And had 2 and a half hours to go on MSN this after noon... I finished around half past 3, so then I just went to my dad. At his office, there were actually things I could do! Small and easy, of course, let filing stuff and alphabetising stuff, but it was something! And, I knew some of the people over there ( of course my dad), but that made it slightly less unnerving. I do want to mention, though, that the people at Springer were incredibly nice too! My "boss" Crystal even paid for my lunch in the cafetaria! And during lunch me and all my 'colleagues" ( which included only one guy!) all talked about last night's Grey's Anatomy episode ( even the guy!) and debated over whether McDreamy or McSteamy was hottest :P That was real fun, and of course the English & American people around. I've missed that , since the international team of teachers lately isn't so international anymore. Anyway, boring or not, it was quite an educational experience. Only one more day to go, and than it's 'May holiday'!! I can't wait! Of course there are some thigns I need to do, like make a practical assignment for General Science with Eva, but that A) won't last all week, and B) is also fun to do because Eva and I are good frieinds :) I guess that was about it; the update on my life. How is everyone else? I hope great, and I hope to hear from you all LJ-ers soon!

Writers Block

So I've been back at school for a while now, I just had my week of exams. I had Maths, French, History and German. German and, surprisingly, Maths went well! History went okayish, and French I'm not sure. I'll let you konw. Usually I'm very good at French, so it was kind of weird.. Maybe I"ll just feel weird, maybe it's not so bad as it seems.
I'm thrilled! Tomorrow there's another stupid school trip on which we're goiong to get information about all sorts of educations at University, and Friday there are workshops! I'm going to get a singing workshop, YAY! At the end of the day we're also going to perform something. O goody. What I really really love, is that we're practising in the music class room, where also the grand piano is! I'm gonna get to play on that during every free minute I have, cause I've only played on it once, or maybe twice, and I <3 grand pianos! I've heard it seriously needs to be tuned, we'll see about that.
Last Saturday I bought Grey's Anatomy season 1 on DVD, and now I'm even more addicted. By the way, I was really surprised that in the Netherlands we're only 9 or 10 episodes behind on America, while I thought Holland was always years behind or something. For my birthday my friends might give me part one of season 2 GA !, and then I'm going to buy part 2 myself. Does anybody know if it's going to be brought out in one box any time soon? I find it kind of annoying that the season's split up in 2 boxes now.

I'm suffering from a severe writers block, now I've completed writing a fic with every single letter of the alfabet (yes, even the X and the Z!) Find them over here: http://www.fanfiction.net/~annachase . But now, I lack inspiration. I want to write another Grey's Anatomy fic, or maybe Gilmore Girls? Anyone got any tips for me? I seriously need to get rid of this writers block, it's depressing me. Fortunately, I do still have inspiration to write on my other fic, "Faux Pas de Deux". Let me know real soon if you can help me, I'll love the person who does forever!

Yours truly and sincerely,

She's Back!

Hey LJ-friends and others!,

It's seriously been ages since my last update, shame on me! I guess I've just been a little lazy on this, and the fact that I have a new paper journal makes me even lazier on talking about my life online, but here I am! My big brotherish friend Ty nudged me, so I decided to make him ( and maybe also others? ) happy and give you all a glance into my Dutch teenage life again.
So what have I been up to? Mainly all the regular stuff; school, celebrating the holidays, playing the piano, writing, and of course keeping up with my favourite Tv shows Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls and GTST ( Dutch soap, don't ask).
Today was my first day at school again after the Christmas holidays, and it's taking me some effort to get used to it again. Especially the being up at 6 AM already kind of hurt after spending many days in bed at least till 9! But, it was good to see my friends again adn my classmates and show them my freshly cut hair. I look very different now, I'll try to upload a picture soon.
What a pity that it's January already, December is my favourite month of the entire year! I love the winter so much, even though many of you summer-lovers may find this slightly incomprehensable. I love it when it's cold outside, then it's all warm and cozy inside! Candles, the Christmas tree, hot chocolate, etc, and of course nice warm yet also fashionable sweaters make my day. Now it'll last a whole year before December starts again, that really sucks. Why can't it be December all year?? Of course there are a lot of nice things to look forward to, like my birthday which is coming closer again ( March 4th) and several parties, sleepovers, recitals, shopping sprees, etc., but I still miss December.

Yours truly,

My New Room

Hey all!,

As I might have told you in my previous post; me and my dad have been painting & redecorating my room over the past week! It's all finished now, except it still needs new curtains ( which will arrive in two weeks), and a mirror, which I bought yesterday but isn't in the pictures yet because when I took those i didn't have the mirror yet. ANyway, these are the results: Pleaaaaaase comment & say if you like ? * angelic smile* .

 That's my desk!

A shelve with books and other thingies. The blue candles are now replaced with 3 pink ones, though.

My chair! I adore the cushions.

A little cupboard thingy that includes a Buffy/ANgel shelve! ( in the middle).

That's my beddy & tvie. I sleep on it.

Hope you enjoyed! It also still needs like some posters on the wall and other thingies, but I think it worked out really well!

Back in the Netherlands

Heey dear friendies and bloggies,

Im home from London! It was so awesome, I totally had the week of my life! I'll type a little something about each day there. Pictures will follow later, I'm at a friend's laptop right now so don't have my piccies around to update.

Monday. I had to get up superearly, at 4 , because at 5:45 I had to be at school, then we'd all drive for "Hook of Holland " to get on board of the Stena Line, the boat that would drive us to England within only 3 hours! I wasn't even that sleepy, I was all hyper so the getting up wasn't much of a problem. I even remembered to take my suitcase when I got in the car.
On the boat was fun, I sat with my friends Afza, Lily and Deborah and we played some cards. I also wrote some "character biographies" , but that's no big deal. At 10 AM English time, an hour early than Dutch time, we arrived in Harwich and went to Colchester by bus. In Colchester we got some time to lunch, and maybe shop a bit. I'd been in Colchester before, so I recognised some stuff! That was cool. I even bought some stuff already; buffy/angel magazine and the movie Center Stage. After Colchester we drove to London and visited some boring mummy-museum. Then it was finallly time to go see our youth hostel. We slept in a room with six, I was with: Lily, Afza, Deborah, Floortje, and Nicole. It was quite a nice room, a lot less Spartan then I'm used to in youth hostels. We even had a toilet and a shower in the room! At night we went to the supermarket to buy ourselves some dinner, and spent the evening together at the inn, talking, having fun, reading, etc. The things you do when there's nothing else to do. Like, no tv to watch.

Tuesday started early. Breakfast was at half past 7 already! It was quite edible, I must say. I'm not particularly fond of English food, but the breakfast ( continental, English thank god wasn't available , I'm not a morning person) was quite edible. Tuesday was sight-seeing all day. We started with Buckingham Palace, Changing of the horse guards, shopping, and then the Tower of London, and of course also the crown jewels. Those were shiny! During our shop-time, I bought quite some thingies; the Grey's Anatomy Season 1 soundtrack, the Center STage soudntrack, and an Angel action figure! That was so cool, I can't even dream of buying those in Holland. At night, the people at the youth hostel forgot we'd have dinner there, so pizzas had to be ordered. 25 pizzas for 45 students, that took quite some time to make. When they eventually arrived at half past 8 and we were about to take the first bite, the fire alarm went off! First we thought it was like a joke, or a drill, and we al stood in the yard with our slice of pizza. Then the gates opened and we all had to stand on the other side of the street, and 4 fire engines arrived! Then it got pretty scary, I could already see my new bargains burning up in a terrible fire. Fortunately it soon turned out that someone had left the door open while showering so the fire alarm wnet off. That person's parents get to pay a bill of 600 pounds now.... Ouch.

Wednesday. In the morning 20 selected students ( including me! ) got to visit the London Oratory School, and follow one guide-student there for a few hours. My guide was called Matthew, and he was 17 years old. He was quite nice, but classes are so different there than they are in Holland! In my class kids just yell and laugh the whole time and the teacher usually joins! Also, the uniforms. So cool! THough I understand when you have to wear a uniform it's not nearly so cool anymore. In the after noon we wnet to the National History Museum, where the guards took my scissors :S. It was a boring museum, I do'nt like stuffed elephants and giraffes. Then it was dinner at McDonald's , and we went to the musical Queen: We Will rOCk you. That was one of the most awesomiest thingies I ever saw! It rocked!!

Thursday was also a nice day. IN the morning we visited St Paul's Cathedral and had to climb all 450 steps up. I tell you, I could definately feel my legs then, and it wasn't fun anymore. The view was worth it, though, but never again! All after noon we got to shop till we dropped, butI was runningout of money! So I only bought a pair of earrings ,a James Marsters Poster at Virgin's Megastores, and a hamburger :). A yummie hamburger, nevertheless. We had to end our shopping at Trafelger square, but friendDeborah had foot-isues so me and Afza went to try and get a cab. Though most taxi drivers drove off quickly when they saw us; they probably thought we weren't going to pay. Hmpf. Luckily it seemed we were only 5 minutes away from Trafelger Square so we could walk it. O yea, I also bought a book: The Devil Wears Prada, at Waterstones! I still wanna see that movie. Thursdaynight was a bustour through London by night. Impressive, specially Piccadilly Circus.

Friday we went shopping on Camden MArket, wow that is one huge market! Dutch markets are only like 20 stands, tops. I thought this went on forever! I only bought a BigBen keyring, though, I was running out of money. In the after noon, before going back to the boat, we went to Colchester again for a lunch stop. I still shoppeda few things: an Angel the Series playing cards game, and new Earrings at Claire's. The boat was awesome again, I didn'tget seasick for a change! Yay! I was happy to be home again andsee my parents. Also, I'd particularly missed my piano!!

Right now, back in Holland, I'm stayingat my friend Eva's house because my room is being painted. It's gonna be applegreen, awesome! Blog you all later!

2 more days!!

Hey bloggers,

Woa time goes fast; 2 days from now I'll be in London!! I'm still as thrilled, if not more, as I was 13 days ago during my previous post. Tomorrow I'll pack my suitcase and it'll be all hectic. Monday morning I have to be at school at 5:45 AM, so I'm gonna get up at 4:15 AM! I totally love that, I'll be all hyper and full of adrenaline while my parents will be totally sleepy ;).

News from the student tutor front: Last night was my class's first "school dance". It was so awesome! The dress code was black & white. Here you see a picture of me (left) and my friend Lily, who's my "partner in crime" with the tutorness. Piccy:

And this is my class ( I'm at the back somewhere at the red doors. The tallest one there :P). :

Aren't they all cuties? Left to right, front line : Saskia, Romy, Carlene, Hester. Girls standing on the left: Lysanne, Renske, Amber. Second line from front, left to right: Pepijn, Brent, Lorenzo, Dennis, Tom, Bart, Anne, Debbie, Mandy, Caitlin. Behind that, left to right: Rosa, Anna, Susan, Julia, me (:P), Mark :D.

I'll probably post again after England. Wish me lots of fun and shop-stuff!!!

15 Days To Go...

Hey Bloggers,

Only 15 days to go till I go to London! I can't wait, and my good friend Lily is joining Afza and me on the trip now! First she would go to Germany/Austria, but because she's recently been diagnosed with Asthma it's better for her to go to London, since we're not gonna do like, 10 or 15 miles walks there. She didn't want to go to Germany/Austria anyway, it was her second choice. Her first choice was Paris, but that was overbooked so they sent her to London, her third choice. She actually really loved that becasue now she can come with us and shop till we drop!
I already have this shopping list thingy. I'm gonna take 60 pounds, since I"m not "that" rich, and I thought it was quite some money. Here comes the list: ( I'm not gonna buy everything on it!! Just some items, the ones I can find).

-The Gilmore Girls Soundtrack
- Grey's Anatomy Season 1 Soundtrack
- An Angel Action Figure
- The Angel/ Buffy Magazine ( though I'm not sure if it still exists and where I can buy it? Kitty suggested WH SMith, but I checked the site and when I search Buffy/Angel they don't have it :(. Any help very much appreciated!)
- DVD: Centre Stage
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer Calendar
- Some English book
- Angel novel
-Gilmore Girls Novel
- Possibly a diary. Not a journal kind, but a diary you know the kind you use for appointments and school-stuff. THat IS called a diary in English right? That's what my ENglish teacher always taught me but it sounds so strange because it reminds me of the journal kind diary, you write secrets in? Anyway, I'd love to have an English "diary".
- Any other Angel merchandise
- Jewellry at Claire's. Anybody else here who likes Claire's SO much?
- An English magazine?

That was about it! I rougly estimated the prices I didn't know and if I were to buy all things on my list, the price would be.... £121, 85 ..... Ouch. So let's not buy all things! Some stuff are good. The Angel Action figure is probably gonna be off the list since I don't think they're very much alike anyway, the little ones, and what would I do with it?? We'll see. I'll let you guys know about whatever I buy.

Right now I think I'm gonna make a list of all the things I want to bring to London! can't wait!! Wish me luck and fun and please English/American smart people comment on the list-questions?

Me & Maddy

I'm Still Alive

Hey everyone!

Time for an actual message from me, besides all those damn addicting surveys. I just like surveys so well, hehe!
So what's going on in my life? Hmm. I've had some trouble adjusting to the school life again, I just feel like the world is against me and wants me to do everything wrong :S. I know that's not true, I've just had a bit of a hard time last week. All teens know these times, nothing to worry about :). Anyway, now I'm doing okay. First there was this whole thing with damn gym class, we had to run 60 metres in less than 12 seconds. I know it's possible, but it just sucks because I'm not that fast. Anyway, I ran it in 13.05 seconds, so that would mean I'd fail, but fortunately my gym teacher let me pass anyway, so that was a nice. Still I feel just bad because I so badly wanted to get below those 12 seconds! I know it's maybe stupid to worry about this, but I do it anyway. I'm just more sensitive than usual, so then I start worrying about silly things.
This after noon me and Lily were at a student tutor lesson, in which "our" students tell us about how things are going at secondairy school, if they need help with stuff like homework, we learn them how to plan stuff, and sometimes we do things like preparing a party, or a class fun night, or maybe an excursion. It was fun, me and Lily got to teach the whole hour, and I wasn't even nervous! We talked with them about homework, teachers, talking English ( they do a bilangual education too, so have to switch from just Dutch to almost just English, which is quite hard if they only know like "yes and no" in English). Before we knew it the lesson was over. I didn't have much homework today, finished it already. So all I have to do tonight still is learn my script because tomorrow morning I'll audition for the musical : Aida!. I'm kinda nervous, I always get nervous in situations like this, but fortunately I just chose a small part, I don't feel like stressing myself with main parts because I also have lots of performances with the piano coming up. So, I'll start wit ha small part, and if I get it, and I like it, maybe next year I'll go for a bigger one! By the way, I still have to print my script but the school email is down so I can't download it, and I can't print it either because my printer's cartridge is empty! Eva, or Ellen, help?!!

It's a long time I've let you guys hear from me, so maybe you remember me telling you that I had to play the piano in church? Well, that was last week Sunday and it went well! Only minus thing was my sheetmusic falling down, but fortunately I knew it by heart so I just played on untl the person behind me put the music in front of me again. :). Also, the organ played toowhich kinda made me and the other instruments flow into the background, but next time we'll probably play without that organ cause lots of people found that disturbing. The music group isn't there for nothing, after all!

Last Saturday night I went to the movies wiht my friend Ellen. We saw "Step Up", and I'm totally in love with it! As soon as it comes out on DVD I swear I'll buy it!

Last funny detail: IM GOING TO LONDON! With school, we got to pick a trip to either : Paris, London, Germany/Austria, the Ardennen in Belgium, or Barcelona! I chose London together with my good friend Afza because we adore adore adore England! So maybe I'll see some of you English people around there, hwo knows!!

Talk to you all as soon as possible,
